Hello my friends,
today I'm here to share a few more of my recent finds with you.
More treasures than trinkets this week.
Let's start with one I found yesterday.
I needed to drop off a couple of boxes at our local thrift. I have been good and not going inside the last few months. I am in search of vintage items for a couple of upcoming crafts that we'll be making in my two craft groups. So of course, I needed to check it out. :)
This sweet little doll was in the collectors case for $15.
It was the red metal trunk that caught my eye.
And I loved that it had this original tag on it. The silliest things make me ever so happy!!
She did not have the hat on. I found it lying inside the case. Isn't it so cute? I don't know her name. I found the trunk on line, but wasn't able to find her. Her legs are jointed. Anyone have
any idea? Oh, and I love her plaid dress and little shoes!!
Here is an update. Thanks to my wonderful readers, I now know that she is definitely a Betsy McCall doll. I always loved the paper dolls and named our youngest daughter, Kylee McCall after them. Was not sure what the doll looked like. I'm beyond thrilled!!
She came with more clothes and another pair of shoes. Sweet, sweet!!
Would you have bought her?
A little over a week ago hubby and I went gallivanting for a day. I picked this set of S&P shakers up for $1.50. I have a pair like them down in my basement kitchen. This pair will stay upstairs.
I also found this scale. It wasn't instant love because it is plastic. Also, it was not priced.
I took it to the cashier and she said, "how's a dollar?" The green pointer kept calling my name, so I brought it home.
This BFG (Butterfly Gold) Pyrex was just sitting on the shelf. It was filthy and the front was totally coated in baked on yuck! It had $.75 and $1.50 stickers on it. Not sure what I was charged. It may have been one price for the lid and another for the dish. Either way, it's a win, win! Pyrex is so sought after and usually found in the collectibles cabinet.
I host a stitching group at my home on Thursdays. Not every week, but whenever there are at least 5 that can come we get together. Really, we mostly visit and eat. lol! Everyone brings a potluck item. It's such a fun time though.
Afterwards me and two friends drove down to the same local thrift. The back of my car was filled with donations left over from the last estate sale. I wasn't finding much, but just before we left I spied Pyrex on a cart that had been wheeled out. This Homestead bowl is so shiny I doubt it was ever used. $.75 cents.
Then I turned and saw this aqua beauty on another cart. $.75 cents as well. Woot, woot!! What a score!
Now for my last two finds. The old scale was scored at a thrift shop while vacation in Carmel last June. It's super rusty, but for $5 I wasn't about to pass it up.
I just picked up this bird planter off of Vintage Yard Sale Utah last weekend for $12. I have plans to do something fun with it.
Such a sweet tweet!
Do you have a favorite that you would have brought home with you?
