LOVE in the boudoir. . .

When you already have a lot of red in the bedroom it is very easy to bring a little bit of ‘Valentine Love’ into your décor.

2012-01-28 Valentine Bedroom

My everyday bedroom colors are red, yellow, and blue, (hence the yellow wall).

My white coverlet works well whenever I want to plop on one of the quilts that I’ve made for a different look.

This quilt is just a simple 4 patch with a solid block in between.  It is called ‘Cherry Pie’.  I love the mixture of reds and whites.

IMG_5273

I especially love the scallop border, the stripe binding, and oh yes; the polka-dot back.

IMG_5269

My ruffled throw from IKEA gives just a touch of romance.

IMG_5265

I am such a pillow lover!  Poor hubby has to remove 11 pillows off of the bed at night.  I’m a good wife and try to sneak in there a bit before and remove them.  Most of the time that is. lol!

IMG_5275

This little love pillow from Pottery Barn (clearance) holds a couple of Valentines for your sweetheart.

IMG_5263

Now on a more serious note, this one tells it like it is! Hee-hee!!

IMG_5270

Notice where my plaid boots ended up?  Yes, yes, I am still trying to get up the nerve to REALLY wear them!

Hope you enjoyed my ‘Valentines’ bedroom!

Hugs and kisses,

Jann

Of course this your dear friend, Mrs. Ask About the Stitching Pieces. 1) The "I'm All He's Got, 2) the redwork.

Your room is precious. Can I make a reservation to stay at the B&B and book this room?!

P.S. What's on the breakfast tray in a room that precious?!

I have several things to say...let's see....LOVE that red quilt with the scalloped edges. I have not yet done one with a scalloped edge yet, and so want to. Also, I love the look of a quilt draped on a bed at an angle with a neutral coverlet underneath. I do that a lot too. It is a fun look to me. I also love pillows, but hubby detests them! Oh poor hubbies!!! They take function over frilly every time, don't they? Hey, I love the plaid boots sitting there on the bench at the foot of your bed. Darling!
Hugs,
Kris

I love those boots! I have a solid orange pair, not quite as spiffy as yours! I also really love the saying on that pillow. Too funny. My hubby only has to remove three pillows each night!

Smitten!! I am in love with this bed! A pop of red is always wonderful in any room of the house, but your pillows have me swooning. I may have to follow your lead and put some redness into the room I haven't finished yet!!

Love that quilt and your pillows, Jann! Such a great throw from Ikea, too. I am definitely going to have to make a trip there soon. I've started keeping a list of things I see from there that other bloggers have found. The list is getting long.

Hi Jann. This is amazing! Only someone with your eye for color could create such a pleasing mix on the bed.

Thank you for a recent comment on my blog. You asked about African violets. Those started from rootlings take forever to bloom. However, if you water them weekly with a dilute fertilizer solution you will have better luck. The bottle of violet fertilizer lasts forever and is very much worth the investment.

Blessings! Dana
