Winter Whites!

From the title of this post you might think that it’s going to be about Winter in Utah.

Well Houston, we have a problem.  NO SNOW in the valley!

Last year my back yard looked something like this.

005_thumb[3]

This year, not even a trace of the white stuff.

I have to admit that I have enjoyed the warmer weather.  However, we really do need snow.

I thought that If I decorated with a bit of white for the month of January that Mother Nature might be convinced to give up a bit of hers.

2012-01-01 Winter Whites

I decorated my mantle and filled the blue cabinet in my entry with my whites.

I just bought the two urns.  Can’t wait to use them in the garden.

I have a small collection of milk glass.

Pitchers, teapots and creamers.

I love this glittery pine cone birdhouse my friend, Shelley gave me for Christmas.

The icicles are an after Christmas sale purchase.  Too cool to resist!

This display will only last for three weeks and then it will be time to decorate for Valentines.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth pulling out the whites.  Oh well, by then it’ll need a good dusting and Mother Nature needs a bit of coaxing.

Well, Mother Nature I’ve done my best, now the rest is up to you.

Sure hopin we get a bit of snow!

Guess what I found in the back of my closet Tues. night?

Three more white teapots that I had picked up earlier this year at Ross for only $6.99 each.  I had to add them to the cabinet.

Each one has it’s own unique style.

I love the little hobnail trim on this one.

I think it's definitely worth pulling out the Winter Whites, they look so lovely.

We here in New England don't have snow either.
We had so much last year I didn't think I would miss it but I do. Hopefully soon we will have at least a dusting!

I'm with you Jann, we need some snow! My son was snowboarding at Sundance Friday and said it was like sliding on mashed potatos! Do I hear everyone praying for rain again this summer? blah!!

Love all your decor no matter what color it is:)

Jann, I am wishing for snow, too. We usually get a few very light snows but I get excited just the same. Your winter whites are very pretty. Let me know if they bring the snow, I'll put some out if so. Heehee. Wishing you a very Happy New Year! ---------Shannon

Your winter whites are lovely. No snow in Connecticut, either. I thought when we moved here from Virginia that every Christmas would be white. Wrong! Nancy

Can't believe you all don't have snow out there. Must be hard for the ski resorts. We just got a wee bit here which is more than enough for me. Love your urns and your mantle.
