Vintage Red Turns My Head!

Honestly, when it comes to vintage red I am like a slobbering baby drooling all over the place!

I know. . .not a pretty picture!

Doesn’t matter what it is, garden tools, kitchen utensils, tool boxes, dishes, you name it. If it’s vintage and red it’s got my head turning!

Today I’m sharing with you my newest vintage red transferware.  I found these two darling egg cups in Napa Valley, and the pitcher was scored at a consignment shop on the trip home.

The teacup and bowl were scored at the same thrift shop as the egg cups.  I don’t think they really went together, but for $5, who cares?

I picked some pretty red Hollyhocks from the garden.  An old fashioned flower to go with my vintage red. . .perfect!

I’m keeping my summer mantle fairly simple.  I placed a few plates in my wooden box that I painted white last year.

The linen draped over the side was another consignment find.  It’s actually a runner. I’m sure it will show up on the table in a future post.  I love the pattern and the delicate lace!

The three matching plates were a thrift find.

These pieces are ones that I have had for a while.  The serving bowl and plates were thrift finds.  the little creamer I have had for years.

Yesterday I walked out into the garage and spied this bit of gingerbread trim that I have had for some time.  I tucked it in behind.  What do you think, do you like it better, with or without?

Without the added gingerbread piece.

or with?

Either way, I love my vintage red transferware!

Excuse me while I go wipe the drool off of my face. (smile)

Jann

Oh, Jann, I love your red transferware. I have never seen any to purchase, but I think I need to find some for my Christmas decorating.

I can't believe I just mentioned Christmas, but I have been thinking ahead.

You got my head turning too, Jann. Love your red transferware, and I like the mantle with the trim - it makes that side's portion of the vignette easily stand on its own.

I love it too!
And your pitcher and egg cups are such a find-lucky lady.
It looks lovely with the rest of your collection on your mantle.

You and I could really go shopping together. I'll never get enough red transferware either. Around here, there seem to be no bargains any more. When I first started collecting it, probably 15 years ago, it was cheap. Now it seems that everything I find is $40+. That slows me down a little.

Your mantle just couldn't be any prettier. I love the plates in the white box.

I'm getting so much brown transferware around here, I'm thinking I should focus on more red -- I have some, but NOT enough!!!! Love, love the egg cups and the pitcher. Sally
