Share Your Cup #238

Hello, and welcome to Share Your Cup, (SYC for short).

The party where you share what makes you happy.

It's what I like to call, "filling your cup".  I truly believe that by sharing the things that make us happy we help to make others happy as well.

Before we continue, I want to address the topic of:

Little Rules Of Etiquette

Rules that we have all grown up with, things like my mom always saying, "if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all".

So I hope you know that I am addressing this with kindness and not trying to be rude.  I really think that many are just unaware.

Each week many new blogs are linking up. I am thrilled to have them, but try as I might, I see no mention of Share Your Cup, and often any other party they might be joining.

Even some that have been linking for a long time no longer take the time to mention parties they are joining.

This is just a common courtesy.  I will have been hosting SYC for 5 years the end of March.
I love it, but honestly it is work!  Not only do I pay $20 a year to host a link party.  (Granted, not much; but I do not make money on my blog.) still I am more than happy to host!  Don't get me wrong, I love it!  And I cherish the friendships that I have made through hosting this party!!

If I join a party I take the time to add a link to one of the hosts.
I know we are all busy, but I try to visit and comment on each one of your posts.  Sometimes (for unknown reasons), some blogs will not allow me to comment.

The whole purpose of a link party is to find new friends, (bring  more traffic), and to share the party with others.  It should be a win, win situation for both of us.

Link party lists are okay, honestly; I don't think many people check them out; but I certainly don't mind.  But when I search your blog and see no mention of Share Your Cup it makes me a bit sad.  I hope you understand.  Please continue to link, but I just thought that some of you may not be aware.

Last week I shared how to

As well as a guest post by Merri showing you how to

Now for the features from SYC #237:
(please pin from their site and not mine)

Although I am longing for spring, Mary from The Boondocks Blog
reminds us of the beauty of winter with her Snow Capped Mountains of Greece.

Sandi from Rose Chintz Cottage took us on a magical adventure to Narnia where we shared a lovely cup of tea.

Pam from Everyday Living shared her beautiful garden and thoughts of how it will grow this year.

When Debby Goes Shabby adds her touch to a rustic bucket it becomes beautiful and elegant!

Brenda from Unique Junktique turned an old telephone table into a gorgeous piece with just the right amount of chippiness!

Janet from Silver Foodie shared the recipe for these yummy Poppin Fresh Barbecups.

Thanks so much for sharing and please grab my button if you were featured.

Now let's party!

1.  I would love for you to be a follower of Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson
2.  Link up a particular post and not your entire blog. Please limit your links to no more than three.
3.  Please have a back link to this post.  That way others will know where the party is.
Only those with a back link will be featured.
 4.  Please find time to visit at least two other participants.
It's a great way to find new friends!

After you link up, please come back and leave a comment.  They help to fill my cup!

Jann, you are a wonderful hostess and you always comment, which has to be overwhelming! Thank you so much for SYC and for featuring my garden!

Thank you dear Jann for featuring my Narnia tea. It is indeed an honour. I always make sure I include a link to your party and anyone else's I join. It is a courtesy and it is wonderful when bloggers do this for the hostess. Hosting a party is very time consuming and yes, it has gotten more expensive to host a party. When I started hosting my tea party it was free back in 2010. It's always lovely to join you and Happy March!

Blessings,
Sandi

Hey Jann! Your party is the BEST! We all know it's a lot of work but so worth it. We appreciate you. Wish we could have an actual party where we could all meet each other in person. Hugs, Pat @ Bringing French Country Home

Thank you so much for hosting this party every week! Indeed, it must take extra effort (and cost) on your part and you are such a gracious hostess visiting everyone - so appreciated! I include a link at the end of my posts and I hope that is okay. I am so grateful to all the blogs that host link parties so that us "little" blogs can have our posts seen!

Jann,
May I add that I think it is just common Courtesy to provide a link to each party that you link up a post to and also to leave a comment thanking that host for the trouble and expense that she goes through for not only hosting but for visiting each post like you do!! Your efforts are truly appreciated and may I also add that many hosts do not take the time you do to visit. And for that I THANK YOU!!
Hugs,
Deb

Hi Jann, I'm sure it is a lot of work hosting a party. What I really like, besides your fun blog, is that you visit and leave comments for everyone, thank you for that. It makes me not even want to join those parties whose hostess never acknowledges those who have joined and have left comments week after week for them (the hostess).
Thanks for hosting and Happy March!

You are such a gracious hostess, dear Jann, and thank you for reminding everyone of the rules of linky party etiquette.
Your little bird nest is soooo cute. I can tell that you're yearning for Spring!

Hi Jann, thanks for hosting your link-up party, I really appreciate it that you visit each blog, which participates and leave a comment.
I enjoyed your previous post about making your own bird nests. The last green one was my favorite. I probably won't make one from scratch, but I will see if I can find one out of grape vines and then embellish it.
Warm regards,
Christina

I agree, Jann. I always name the parties I link up to with a link back to the host at the end of my blog post. It is common courtesy! Thank you for hosting every week! xoxo

Jann, I'm unable to find a place to link on your post. I have that problem occasionally, don't know why, but am unable to link up for some reason. Thanks for hosting any way, and I'll try again next week to link to your party! :(

Thanks so much for hosting Jann! You are one of the few hostesses who actually comments on every link, and that is truly appreciated. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Pam's garden makes me drool. As do your gardens Jann! I keep looking out into my backyard with frustration at all the work that needs to be done to make it look the way I want it to look, and all the red clay that needs to be plowed through to make it happen. Sigh . . . one step at a time in my five year plan.
Thanks for the party friend. Have fun with your sale today :)

Jann, you are one of the most gracious party hosts in blogland. I can only imagine how much time it takes to pop over to each and every blogger who links up, especially considering how popular this party is. Your message served as a great reminder to double check those posts before I share them each week because sometimes I'm in such a rush that I forget to add my usual party link at the bottom of the post. Appreciate the SYC Party and wishing you a lovely weekend ahead.

Jann, I appreciated your comment and always the fun party you host! As my party list has continued to grow, I have added a party page which includes your party, but I do include a link to the party page on every post. You've probably already seen this, but just in case ;) Hugs, Cecilia

Thank you for hosting! I don't come every week, but I like your party when I do. I'm sure it's a lot of work to do one of these. I think you've commented on mine before that you didn't see my link. It gets moved around sometimes...LOL. Right now it's living on another page where I have them listed. But it's there! Good points about the etiquette though.

Thank you for sharing the lamp shade project- I've been looking around, trying to decide what to do about the guest room lamp, and this looks like what I've been looking for but not finding! Thank you! =)
