The Great Outdoors.

The linky feature for At the Picket Fence is doors and porches

When I think of Christmas, one of the things that crosses my mind is snow capped covered mountains.  My family has such a love for the outdoors.

I have so much fun decorating our porch with an outdoor theme.

This black drop leaf table holds a mixture of pine boughs I clipped from my FIL’S yard,  It once belonged to his parents.

My large lantern filled with pinecones, a white pumpkin saved from Fall, a crystal  garland, dried hydrangeas, rose hips, and three jumbo bells complete the vignette.

Hubby and I no longer ski.  Probably because we feel about as old as these ski’s look. lol! Actually haven’t skied since college days.  Couldn’t afford it as newlyweds.

I am mad for tartan plaids!  Thermos and coolers all ready to serve up some hot chocolate.

IMG_4570

One never knows when they might need a bit of tape.

Old ice skates are so fun to decorate with.  Look at this darling child’s pair I bought in WI.  They say Lake Placid on them.  The red leggings I bought at an estate sale for $1.50

Hubby and I do like to snowshoe.  Only made it out once last winter.  So fun, we need to go more often.

Wish I would’ve taken a picture of our home with the lights on.

Houses all lit up at Christmas time are so magical.  Especially in the eyes of a child.  I took my 22 month old grandson for a ride to see the lights.  He would excitedly say, “I see it, I see it”.  And then I’d hear, “WOW”!  I don’t know who enjoyed it more, him or me.

What a wonderful season!

Jann

Your porch is so pretty. I do not have anything in the house let along on a porch. Great job.

Oh Jann, I just love your porch....it's so charming! I'm crazy about those plaid thermoses and I'm drooling over those skis. I've been trying to find a nice pair of wooden ones for our porch, but all I see are the fiberglass ones. Not pretty enough for the porch!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
