Share Your Cup Taking a Break. . .

Hello my friends,

Just need to give you a bit of an update of what's going on with me.  And let you know that I will need to take a break from hosting  Share Your Cup for a while.

Treasures and Trinkets Tuesday-Birds of a Feather

Hello my friends,
Every now and then I love to share a few of my
 treasures and trinkets.

Today a few of my friends and I put some of our trinkets together to create some treasures.

So this is a little different treasures and trinkets Tuesday.

Cloche Encounters of the Bird Kind. . .

Hello my friends,

Spring is very unpredictable in Utah.  One day will be warm and sunny and two days later we find ourselves waking up to snow.

But one thing that I've noticed is that the birds don't seem to mind.  They remain confident that spring will return.  They know that the snow won't last long and the sun will shine again soon.

I love walking outside to hear them chirping their merry tunes.

Hangin with my Gnomies. . .

Hello my friends,
while working in the garden the other day I discovered a mound of moss growing in one of my old milk buckets.

I just knew I had to do something with it!

Easter arrived early this year and I have enjoyed my bunnies, chicks, and lambs immensely!

But, at the same time I was ready to put them away and move on to decorating with garden goodies.

Spreading Easter Joy with Vintage Vignettes

 Hello my friends,

I am so happy to be joining 11 other talented bloggers that will be sharing our love for vintage.

These cast iron flower basket door stops are one of my favorite collections.  I was inspired by my cute friend, Joanne to collect them.  In fact, she found 2 of the 3 for me.

I bought the bunny for $5 at an antique store in Texas and found the little cart at a thrift shop for $1.  The chicks beaks were all chipped.  a little paint fixed them right up!

Out on the Porch for Spring.

Hello my friends,
Spring has arrived and it has finally been warm enough that I could decorate the front porch.

Diorama Easter Eggs. . .

Hello my friends,
Last Tuesday our craft group got together and created the sweetest diorama Easter eggs.

Treasures and Trinkets Tuesday. . .Easter Smalls in My Tiered Tray

Hello my friends and happy Spring!

Yup, according to the calendar; spring has arrived.

I'm looking forward to spending time in the garden doing clean spring up.  I just love getting down and dirty!!  :)

I know that I have shared my tiered tray with you before.  However, it remains to be one of my favorite pieces to style for holidays.

Playing with Plants and Purple Planters. . .

Hello my friends,
Happy St. Patty's Day!

We arrived home last Tuesday afternoon about 4:00 after our almost two week road trip to Texas.  Surprisingly,  we were greeted with lovely 60 degree weather.

Knowing that we would need to stop and buy milk I suggested we go to Wal-mart.

I had an alternative motive.  :)  They just happen to have a garden center as well.

The next day I found myself playing with plants and purple planters.  (Say that three times fast) lol!

Village Peeps. . .

Hello my friends,

Spring is only a week away and I wanted to share some of my new village peeps with you.

Last year I created three glitter Easter houses.  I've found a few new peeps that are now hanging around town.

A Garden Surprise

Hello my friends,
Don't you love it when you're driving along a country road and you happen across a delightful place?

Yesterday, while we were returning to Brenham after visiting Waco we came across a delightful shop in the town of Independence.

A Day at Magnolia. . .

Hello my friends,
I'm sure most of you know that hubby and I are road tripping through the state of Texas.

Yesterday we arrived in the beautiful small town of Brenham.  This morning we headed to Waco to visit Magnolia.

San Antonio River Walk. . .

Hello my friends,
we are here in San Antonio enjoying beautiful 80 degree weather.

Texas Bound. . .Share Your Cup Will Return in Two Weeks

Hello my friends,
I'm a little late at getting this post out.  I had company today and then our youngest daughter came by for dinner and a visit.

Family comes first!  :)

Hubby and I are off first thing Thursday morning on a long road trip to Texas.  For that reason SYC will be on a two week break.  It will return on March 21st.

We are heading into Bluebonnet heaven!!

Peter Rabbit and Friends. . .

Hello my friends,
have you seen the new 'Peter Rabbit' movie?

We just got home from taking one of our granddaughters to see it.  A bit corny in places, but the kid in me loved it!

How to be More Efficient at Home. . .

Hello, my friends,
recently I received an e-mail regarding a post that I thought you might enjoy.  I am receiving no compensation for sharing this.

Most of this article is from Zowie Ashton, a writer of blog articles that is really passionate about topics related to home improvement, cleaning, and organizing.  She owns a small business company based in London.

Vain & Vintage. . .A Fun and unique shop

Hello my friends, hubby and I took off Thursday for a
little get away.

Every couple years we head North to Idaho for a soak in Lava Hot Springs mineral pools.

It does wonders for the soul and these old bones.  :)

We always spend at least one night in Pocatello.  One of my favorite vintage shops is located there.

I got permission from the shop owner to take you on a little tour.

Welcome to
Vain & Vintage!

Painting my wood floor white, and a change of mind.

Hello my friends,

When we bought our home 8 1/2 years ago there were a couple things that I didn't love about it, but knew that I could change them down the road a ways.

One was the tan trim and the other was the fact that the wood in the living room was different than the other wood in the house.

We recently replaced and added wood to more rooms.  I chose a chiseled walnut.  I debated about doing the same wood in the living room, but decided that I really wanted to try painting it.  I love the Scandinavian homes I see with white wooden floors.

This is what it looked like BEFORE.

Share Your Cup. . .returning next week

 Hello my friends,

Happy Valentines Day!!
I hope you are able to spend it with someone you love.  Whether it be family, friends, or your sweetheart!

Hubby and I decided that we are going to "get the heck out of Dodge" and go for a little get away.

The benefits of being retired!  :)

Because of this, there will be no Share Your Cup this week.

It will return on the 21st.

Pom Poms and Roses. . .

Hello my friends,

I'm not sure what it is, but big fluffy pom poms and pretty roses make me ever so happy!

I had a couple of skeins of pink yarn that I had saved from one of the estate sales.  I added an aqua color from Hobby Lobby and then picked up a white from our local thrift.

Super Bowl? I Hope it's Pyrex!!

Hello my friends,

I saw this photo on facebook and it made me laugh.  I thought I would share it with you along with my accidental collection of Pyrex.

This is a post that I originally shared March of 2017.

Cherries and Chocolate. . .A Match Made in Heaven

Hello my friends,
as some of you may know; I am not a huge chocolate lover.

Oh yes, I enjoy a bit of chocolate now and then, but when it comes to cake, ice cream, and even chocolate.  I prefer white over brown.  :)

BUT cherries and chocolate together. . .now that's another story!

Lately I have been seeing a lot of Anthropomorphic cuties on Instagram.

I have a few and thought I would share them with you.

Craft Room Decluttering. . .

Hello my friends,
Thank goodness for the month of January!

The cooler temps keep us in doors more and allows us some organizing time.

A bit of winter. . .inside & Out

Hello my friends, while some areas have been hit with heavy snow, here in Utah we have had none to speak of.

Our mountains and ski resorts have been suffering.  Its even been too warm to make snow.
It seems weird to see people in shorts and flip flops with our temps in the upper 50's.

But finally, snow has come!  I had almost forgotten how
pretty it is.  :)

It's All About the Color!

Hello my friends,
I went to an estate sale this week.  After I got home and was cleaning up my purchases I realized that I buy a lot of things simply because of their color.

Yup, it's all about the color!

I would not have looked twice at these baskets if they had not been painted this fun green.  I have a few of them, and really didn't need more.  But. . .how could I resist that color?  (wink)

Treasures and Trinkets Tuesday. . .Jewelry Hearts

Hello my friends,
with Christmas over many of us are starting to think Valentines.

Although I am not ready to start pulling out the Valentines décor, I am ready to do a bit of creating.

It's been quite a while since I did
a 'Treasures and Trinkets Tuesday' post.

I thought this project fit the bill.

Darling Dishes

Hello my friends,
today
I want to share my love (addiction) for darling dishes.

But first, I have a confession to make. . .I was not always a dish lover.  As a young girl I was very active and didn't spend a lot of time in the kitchen.  It seems a bit weird to me, but I don't even remember what the dishes were that we ate our daily meals on.  I don't remember growing up with Pyrex or any particular brand of dishes.  All of my grandparents had passed by the time I was old enough to remember them, so I have no memories of 'grandmas house'.  I did have sweet Aunts.  I remember my Aunt Violas yummy custard, but not the dishes it was served in.

Share Your Cup #278

Hello, and welcome to Share Your Cup, (SYC for short).
The party where you share what makes you happy.
It's what I like to call, "filling your cup".  I truly believe that by sharing we not only fill our own cups, but others as well.
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and that '2018' is treating you well so far!

When the Clock Strikes Midnight. . .

Hello my friends,
Do you mind me asking, "what were you doing when the clock struck midnight and 2017 came to an end?

Were you nestled all snug in your bed fast asleep, or were you up celebrating?
Our table was set and we were ready to party with family and friends.
If we had been having a formal dinner we would have dined upstairs, but since we were having finger foods and playing games I decided to host it downstairs.
That way we didn't have to lift that heavy typewriter off
 of the table.  :)
