Remember This?

I have a table in the walkway of my family room I decorate with vintage items.IMG_4654.

Often when people walk by they will look at something and say, “Wow, that’s old”.  Question is, how old is it and do you remember it?

REMEMBER when the box that held lights was as cute as the lights?

Remember when music was on a real album?

REMEMBER  when SNOW came in a cute box instead of a bag?  Or when every one was flocking their own trees?

IMG_4647

REMEMBER when advent calendars popped up and just opening the door to a cute picture was delight enough?  Now we must have chocolate. lol!

REMEMBER when everyone was making things like this?

IMG_4648

REMEMBER when you would spray snow using stencils to make darling pictures on your windows?

REMEMBER old ornaments from your childhood? Shiny Brites and such.

A few of these are from our first Christmas tree, 39 yrs. ago.

Funny how now we try to create things that look ‘old’.

REMEMBER how just a simple snow scene was magical for children young and old?

Oh yeah, I think that was only yesterday.

Now if you remember a lot of these, you may be feeling a bit ‘old’ by now.

That’s o.k. think of all those wonderful memories.

Happy Holidays!

Hi Jann. I love all of your vintage items. I remember many of those things. I wish I had some of them now! I love your idea of putting the bulbs into a glass jar. I am SO going to do that!!!!
My blog button you asked about was a gift. A blog friend that my daughter and I know, and met at Blog Sugar, graciously made one for both me and my daughter, as a surprise gift. I was thrilled with it. She said she used Picnik to make it. But other than that, I don't know how to do one.
Have a good weekend coming up!!

My favorite decorations on my vintage items...most of them thrift store finds! I love the way you've arranged some in the terrarium! My sister and I talked on the phone tonight about what we love most...deers and elves...angels and Santas! They are all so special! ♥

oh yeah, I love this post and all your "remembers". Last summer I found some old window lights in fabulous graphic boxes. I thought the boxes alone would be so cute to use in a Christmas vignette. As of last week none had sold in my booth. But that's okay....I have no problems keeping them. :) xoxo
