Vintage Love From Me To You!

For Valentines Day I wanted to share a bit of ‘Vintage Love’ with you.

My collection of old Valentines. I have collected these over the years.  None of them were from my childhood, darn!  In fact, the first ones I bought I gave them to my own children.  I put their name and the date on the back.

Twice Owned Valentines.

Sentiments of love still hold true today.

This one reminds me of when I was young and so bashful around boys that I liked.  If they were just a friend, I was not at all bashful or quiet, weird huh?

IMG_5449

This one probably has the most unusual saying.

IMG_5440

I have a couple motion Valentines.

This fellow moves his big eyes back and forth as he strums his guitar.

I think this is my favorite.

This sweet little tea cup baby was probably something that you would’ve written your guests name on or maybe a floral greeting.

I’ll leave you with a slightly tattered postcard.

I hope that my ‘Love Dove’ helped these to fly right into your heart!

I love your vintage valentines, Jann.

I do not have any of my own, but I printed tons of them off the net and used them in my dining room for my Valentine dinner party that I had last night. I love the corny phrases from previous eras.

So sweet!

Your valentines are really sweet. I don't have any of my own from when I was a little girl because my mom threw them all out. Pity! She was not a vintage kind of person nor did she really appreciate antiques. I guess I get it from my Dad. Thank you for sharing these cuties with us today and joining me for tea. Have a Happy Valentines day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hello Jann,
What a lovely collection. I too love the old Valentines but have non of my own. I have a few vintage ones I have picked up. I loved Valentine's Day as a child at school, and adored Valentine cards.
You have a lovely blog and I have enjoyed my visit, seeing all your fine needlework!
Hugs,
Terri

These remind me of my childhood ones too. They are so much sweeter than the ones children have today.
Happy V'Day!

I love vintage cards. My grandmother passed along a small collection to me, but I don't have any Valentines. What a great collection you have.

What a fun collection Jann. My Mom has a few of her old cards that are old like those. She wishes she had kept more because they are so cute now.

Not too long ago, we saw some adorable cards for not much money at an antique store, thought about buying them, but didn't. We aren't creative enough to know how to decorate them.

I love the way you have yours on the heart card holder. Thank you for this great idea. I'll have to be on the look out for cards and a cute display.

Thanks too for visiting my blog party each week!
