Out Like a Lamb. . .

We’ve all heard the saying, ‘'”In like a lion, out like a lamb”.

Well, March has come and gone, and even though there is a dusting of snow on the ground this morning;  my thoughts have turned to the lamb.

Could it be because of this sweet lamb I just found?  I wanted to say, ‘little lamb’, but truth is. . it’s quite large.

I have seen so many wonderful carved and cast iron lambs on some of my friends blogs and have been searching for one for almost a year.

This sweet thing is larger than what I had in mind, but I could not pass it up.

Perfect next to my sheep picture.  It was painted by a UT artist and I love it!  Such cute faces peeking through that rustic fence.  She painted them from the sheep she had on her property.

I added a rustic scale topped with an old brown bottle which I found at a thrift shop for $1.  I recently ordered the cotton from Antique Farmhouse.

The little wooden box was another thrift find and the sheep plate was given to me by my friend, Amanda.  Still love a little bit of primitive décor!

This photo helps show just how large the lamb is.  You might remember that my daughter and sil are living with us right now.  He has his books displayed in this rustic cupboard.

Honestly, I am confessing here.  I brought these plaid items downstairs after Christmas and here they have sat.  Haven’t taken the time to put them where they go.  lol!

A few more primitives on the side of my chippy cupboard.   The crock is a reproduction that I found at  Ace Hardware store when I was in Star Valley with my gal pals.  Ace,  who would have guessed?

One more look at my sweet little ‘lamby pie”.  I love it so baaaadly!  Hee-hee!  I know, bad joke!

Hmmmm, wondering about that saying, ‘lambie pie’.  Anybody ever really had a piece of lamb pie?

hugs,

Jann

Growing up on a sheep ranch, we had lamb in everything -- I'm sure we had it under a crust, too! Love your huge lamb - never seen a cast iron one that big. Sally

What a great vignette. The lamb is too cute and the picture behind it is perfect. You have some cool pieces there. Leave the plaid. It fits right in.

The whole arrangement looks beautiful, Jann! I think the sheep is a great size, especially with the sheep picture in the background. The red plaid adds the perfect pop of color!

Haha I think the lambie pie is like sweetie pie and I've never had a piece of that either. Lol
Love the display. I think you've chosen wisely re. the sheep. Really lovely. With my love for real Yorkshire sheep, I think I need to look into finding a nice lamb like that.

He's beautiful !

Reminds me of when I was little and my mom had me memorizing Little Lamb who Made Thee out of a childrens book.

Ha ha a bit different than the entertainment kids have nowadays. I had to learn poetry while drying the dishes with her!

Very, very pretty vignette of the lambs... I think the plaid is just barely pushing the welcomed season of spring picnics, May holidays... I didn't notice anything except how beautiful it all looked!
