Vintage Pinks

Lately it seems that a lot of the vintage items I am finding at thrift stores are pink and white.

It causes me to wonder, being the red lover that I am, why are you buying so many pinks?

Oh Pink Saturday look what you have done!

This girl is becoming a bit of a pink lover.  Notice the frilly font for girly pink. lol!  My house has red in almost every room so what am I going to do with all of these pinks?

Well, we are adding a bit of cottage charm to our living room.  My couch has roses on it.  I have always accented and pulled out the reds.  But I think I may just have to add a few pinks when I put it back together.

I know, not really red.  You’d be surprised how it turns more to red with other red décor.  Not bright red of course, but deeper vintage red.

Could I say red anymore? Hee-hee!

Notice, a bit of robins egg blue also?  Thinking I might bring my blue cupboard out on the porch in for a while.  Hey if were pulling out pink, why not pull out blue?

Is this creamer not the cutest?  What a sweet tea party on top!

IMG_5666

I just bought this tea pot for $5 at the D.I. in St. George. I couldn’t believe that the dainty roses were not even chipped. The sales clerk commented that usually the roses are broken.

IMG_5670

This $3 scalloped carnation plate at a St. George yard sale was too sweet to pass up!

I love how one edge is shaded with a teal color.

This set was $4.

IMG_5676

I really just wanted this tiny creamer.  Notice they don’t really go together?  Hey for $4 I’ll take them both.

IMG_5677

I am not sure if this pincushion is made from an old doily sewn around a Styrofoam ball, or just made to look old.  Either way; cute, cute, cute!

I’m hoping that this room will become pretty with a little pink!

Hello Mrs. Olson,
I enjoyed your post so much. Collecting pink dishes is very addicting, especially when you can find such greal deals! I think pink would go lovely with your sofa colors. But I always adored pink dishes. Thanks for sharing.

Change is good. So maybe you will go more with the pinks for a while now, with spring coming and all.
I adore that sweet crocheted pin coushion. Many hours of work sure went into it. I know because I've just started crocheting lately!
Have a great weekend-Kimberly

I think you should bring the blue hutch in...it will be beautiful with your roses.
And I think that pin cushion is older...I don't know if they make quite that kind of threads still...anyways...so sweet!

Hi Jann,
Wow, some great new finds you have there, they are so pretty!
I was thinking, if you get tired of the pink, I know of a good home who would be willing to take them off of your hands...just saying.
I love your love seat with the pretty roses and the patchwork of different materials, I have a chair that I am making a slipcover for and I'm making it all patchwork too! I just love that look!
Have a great day today!
All the Best,
Christine
