Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Ask any girl (no matter how old) what she wants to do and more than likely you’ll hear, “I just wanna have fun”.

That’s exactly what me and three friends will be doing this coming week.

A few months ago one of my dear friends (we have been friends since 6th grade) lost her husband.  I told her that I was going to take her on a trip.

Now came the hard part, I wanted four of us to go so who else would I ask?  I have so many friends and sisters that I knew would be so much fun.

One day I was with two of my friends, Ann and Peggy.  Just out of the blue Ann said, “We need to go on a girls trip”, Peggy agreed.  I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.  Was this meant to be or what?  I told them that I was taking Joyce on a trip and if they wanted to come that would be awesome.  Seriously, I never dreamed that either one would really go.

But here we are, the FAB FOUR.  lol!  Don’t know how fab we are, but we definitely know how to have fun.  Joyce, Ann, me, and Peggy.

Idaho is a bit of rural heaven.

We stopped off at a Thrift Store where I scored a vintage video camera.

014

We wanted to go here because we could see all kinds of fun stuff inside.  But alas, it was closed.

015

We stopped off for a restroom break and of course we had to buy a ‘lotto’ ticket.

So there you have it, day 1 of our ‘Girls Gone Wild’ road trip.

Tomorrow’s destination Sisters, OR

Oh, my goodness, Jann! I had a feeling you were headed to the Sisters Quilt Show! How I wish I could go this year, but, wouldn't you know...We have a family wedding to go to that is far away! You girls are going to have soooo much fun!!!

If you can, be sure to visit my favorite quilt shop in Bend. It's called "Sew Many Quilts" (They were chosen as one of BH&G's Top Ten Quilt Shops a few years ago)...and, it's out of this world for samples and delightful inspirations! The shop carrys one of the patterns that I designed called the "Button-Bonnet Apron". It's a child's prairie bonnet/egg gathering apron. I haven't introduced it to my blog because I want to introduce it as a pdf pattern. I am still in the process of getting it ready.

Have you been to Sisters in the past for the quilt show? Do you like licorice ice cream? Will you be popping in somewhere for coffee? Funny questions, I know, but if you want any suggestions...I can make a few recommendations.

Well, I have chattered long enough...and, afterall, you're on a holiday with your gal pals!

Have a fun, safe and uplifting time, my sweet friend!
Blessings,
Carolynn xo

Thank you for you delightful comments on my blog, Jann! They mean so much!

what a beautiful blessing for the four of you. My mom has actually done the same thing with two other friends of hers. My mom had a stroke in september and her recovery has been a long journey...it is so amazing that she has this opportunity and the love of her friends..and sure gives my 75 year old dad a little time to relax also.Lifting up prayers for your friend and her family during this time in their lives also...

Jann, I am so sorry that your friend lost her husband. I'm sure she feels devastated. What a good friend you are to do this trip for her. Being with friends is probably going to do her a world of good. You all look like a giggly group of best friends and that is great! I look forward to "the rest of the story". ----------- Shannon
