Copy Cat Christmas

I have been looking forward to Debbie-Doos Copy Cat Challenge.  At first I  chose a vintage looking vignette I saw in my Cottage Journal magazine.  When my bell cloche wouldn’t fit over my glitzy Santa I started looking at some of my other magazines.

Then this came in the mail.

My friend, Joyce was readying her house for a Christmas home tour.  I went over one afternoon to give her a bit of help.  Not that she needs it in the creativity department.  Because she certainly has plenty of that.  But four hands and two brains even if one is blonde seem to make things go faster.

She pulled out this magazine and said, “I want to do something like this”.  Well, we did and it’s pretty sweet.  But, I’m saving hers for last.  Afterwards I came home and made a mini version for myself.  Not as fab as hers or Country Living’s, but still kind of fun.

A catch all for my gift wrapping essential accessories.

Nice to have ribbons, tags, twine, and scissors right at hand.  The ink and letter scale are ready and waiting for letters to Santa.

Now here is my friend, Joyce’s.  I love it because she had a vintage crate that worked fabulously.

We both bought us one of these large spools of jute a long time ago at Big Lots. Isn’t it cute in her lime green bucket?

She had pretty spools of velvet ribbon.

Pretty cute huh?

Now you can see why I saved hers for last.  If I’d have shown it first you wouldn’t have given mine a second glance. lol!

Hope you enjoyed our copycats!

Hugs,

Jann

I am a cubby and shadowbox kind of gal. I love both.

I love your crate or cubbies. I like that the ribbon is being used as a decoration. Christmas ribbons are so beautiful anymore and it is a shame to keep them hidden when they display so beautifully.
This is very pretty! Great job!

I love both! May I please borrow, ok, copy the sugar container/baking twine idea. I have a craft room that looks like a bomb exploded and need better organization.
