Silver and Gold. . .

My heart aches tonight for those in CT that have anything to do with the tragic shooting of the 27 individuals, most of which were children.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I have heard that Tues. will be a day of silence in blogworld to show respect.  I can not even imagine how much they are suffering.

Whenever I think of those two words Silver and Gold I see the snowman narrating Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer singing (in the voice of Burl Ives).

I couldn’t think of a better description for my living room tree.

I love Silver.  Gold not so much.  But now that vintage color of Gold, that’s a different story.

The star and the bird are the perfect example of Silver and Gold.

And when I think of Silver I think of my favorite Christmas carol, Silver Bells.  I love how these dangle.

Mercury glass acorns and a silvery garland with leaves, nuts, and pinecones that have been dusted with a sparkle of glitter.

More Silver and Gold with a bit of aqua blue here and there.

Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without Silver and Gold!

Thank goodness now I have presents hiding that dreadful cord.

Song Lyrics

Silver and gold
Silver and gold
Silver and gold
Ev’ryone wishes
For silver and gold
How do you measure
It’s worth?
Just by the pleasure it
Gives here on Earth
Silver and gold
Silver and gold
Mean so much more
When I see
Silver
And gold decorations
On ev’ry Christmas tree
Silver, silver and gold
Silver, silver and gold
Silver and gold

Silver and gold
Silver and gold
Wise men brought gifts
To the manger I’m told
Mary was humble to see
Shepherds and kings
There on bended knees
It’s silver and gold
Silver and gold
Feeling the world
With their lives
Silver and gold
How they shimmer
On ev’ry Christmas night
On ev’ry Christmas night

Silver
Silver and gold

Jann

It is all just beautiful, Jann. Now if we could by magic make all those cords and wires disappear. I hide the ones I have as best I can, too. xo Diana

Everything is so delicate...so pretty, Jann. What a special setting to sit with a hot cuppa tea and a good book...and, maybe a kitty or two.
I love your darling sotted swiss curtains....so sweet, so cottagey.
Blessings and Merry Christmas,

Very beautiful, silver and gold. I hadn't heard about the blogger silence on Tuesday. Thanks for the announcement. I know everyone's hearts are aching. I had such a hard time sending my own son to school this morning.
