Love is Spoken Here. . . (Mantle of Love)

Speaking kindly to and about others is an expression of love. . .

love

Growing up my mother always said, “If you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all”.

(Now you can see where my new (old) red tool box ended up.  I filled it with two faux red Hydrangeas and a white Peony)

Speaking kindly to one another is something that I tried to express to my children when they were young, and now to my grandchildren.

I think we all need to take a moment and reflect upon the tone of voice we use when talking to others.  Do we show respect and love?

Teenagers often talk in a rude tone of voice to family members.  They treat their friends much better than their own family.  I always say, “Friends may come and go, but family is yours forever”.

( My fun and easy Doily Bunting drapes across the front)

Telling someone you love them is great, but actions say more than words!

(my Glitter Canvas hi-lights the day designated to show our love for others)

DSC00374

Take time to notice how you speak to others.

DSC00361

It’s not always what you say, but how you say it!

(one  Valentines Spoolies  ended up on my red tray on the hearth.  Along with a couple of French pots, a heart plate, and the letter V from a marquee)

the dictionary says love is the strongest word; it connotes passionate, ardent devotion.

It defines it as:  A strong and deep feeling of attachment; great affection.

(This dictionary was a thrift find and I love it!  The little dove was an after Christmas find a few years ago)

With my love mantle and banner draped across my curtains there’s a whole lotta love going on in my family room.

( bought a kit with the library cards and hearts for $4.99 from Pebbles in my Pocket.  The hearts are two sewn onto the cards.  One is then folded up for dimension)

DSC00359

(I also purchased the glittery L.O V E letters then I just layered them on paper doilies along with other bits of Valentine scrapbooking elements)

I hope it does the trick and reminds everyone to ‘love one another’!

hugs,

Jann

Love every little bit, but especially your wise words. I am often guilty of that very thing. A good reminder to us all. Have a blessed week.

I completely agree with your thoughts. We need to be aware of how we sound to others as much as what our expression is. You mantel is delightful!

Love your mantle!! The tool box is very pretty with the flowers, nice contrast. I have always said the same thing to my girls. "Your friends will come and go, but your Sister is forever" Enjoy your weekend!

I love how you've interspersed your message with your vignettes. The message is one we need to remember.

Thank you for the reminder. Life is really short and I don't think we realize it until we get older and have wasted so much time on things that don't matter.
