Making Room (s) part two. . .the Living/Dining Room

Welcome to part two of my creating rooms in the garden posts.  If you missed the entry and sitting room you can see them here :  Making Rooms

The area under our pergola would have to be our outdoor ‘living room’.  It’s the place where we do the most living.

I wanted it to be very welcoming with lots of seating.

Of course we have to have fresh flowers!

This to me is ‘rustic elegance’.  A beautiful Hydrangea in a rusty shopping cart.

Two of my sisters, a friend, and myself  each made a couple of chicken wire cloches.  An old door knob and a pearl napkin ring were added to the top.  My sister in law, Laurie had made one with the napkin ring and I loved the touch of bling.

Even the dining table has a pretty bouquet picked from the garden.

A scalloped quilt with yo-yo flowers makes a pretty tablecloth.  I made this one years ago.

The rock wall edge at the back of the pergola, (living room)  holds more garden goodies.

My chicken feeder I stenciled a couple years ago.

DSC01961

A birdhouse built by my dear, father in law.  Of course I added all the rustic junk.

DSC01456

A couple of planted tool trays.

DSC01962

Planted teapots sit on a small ladder alongside a few of my vintage sprinklers.  A small metal ice cream freezer is planted with impatiens and the pint size garden tools are handy for the grands.

DSC01935

A fun place to relax amongst garden treasures.  This to me is what I call, ‘living’!

Looking forward to sharing my ‘outdoor kitchen’ with you.

Love it Jann!! Your yard, gardens with the rock wall, patio and pergola are all so beautiful. You have given me some inspiration for decorating the pergola we have having built and I can't wait to get to use it. I love your wicker furniture and the vintage metal chairs along with the other containers you used for planters. It looks wonderful!

I love how you have arranged the everyday internal things into an external space. I am looking to do something like this under my pergola. Somewhere to spend the warm evenings with the cosiness of a living room. Have a wonderful weekend xx

So Jann - So,. . . when we find our new home would you come over and show me how to do some landscaping? Okay, I know, it is a bit far from Utah but I'm going to create one fabulous guest room so that we can bribe visitors from cross country! Your yard is beautiful and I love all the pops of red in your outdoor rooms. You inspire me!
Blessings,
Patti
