Dotty Boots Redo for a Rainy Day Tea.

This morning we were greeted with some well needed rain.

Really, more of a drizzle; but we'll take what we can get!

Perfect day for updating my dotty rain boots.

Originally they looked like this.  After having used them out on the porch for a couple of years they had become faded.

So I gave them a fun makeover!  If you'd like to know how I did it, I've shared the instructions on Hometalk.

Now that I've got some fun new rain boots.  Let's have a rainy day tea!

I've set the table with a layering of vintage dishes.  All found at thrift shops.

I've used an assortment of doilies in place of chargers.

My neighbor gave me this herbal Passion tea by TAZO.

It's a blend of hibiscus, cinnamon, & tropical fruits.
Oh my, was it ever yummy!

And look at that gorgeous pink color.

Notice something different about the little glass ivy plate?
Three of them are green and one is pink.
That's all I have found so far.  Certainly makes for a conversation piece!

I've had this dotty teapot for years.  The soft yellow was perfect with the hexagon runner I made last year.  I elevated it with a cute little bench.

This sweet sugar bowl is one of my recent thrift finds.

Spring is my favorite season.  I love the renewal of everything!

We think of new life.  That of the earth, our Savior, and the baby animals that soon fill the barnyard.

I filled the boots with flowers I found in my garden.  Pussy Willows, Daffodils, and white blossoms cut from my Snow Fountain Weeping Cherry tree.

If you're stuck inside try having a rainy day tea.

hugs,
Jann

What a cute makeover. I've seen these boots in children's sizes that are very faded. I'll have to check out what you did to renew them. Yellow and blue are so pretty together!

Love those boots. Those kind always remind me of my young grandson marching through puddles while proudly wearing his boots. And such a pretty table you set!

Oh I love this post! A rainy day, rain boots and some yummy tea, would could go together any better? I am going to have to check out your tutorial on what you did with your boots to freshen them up. I have a pair in the garage that have also faded. I wish we would get some spring rain here, only if it started to fall right now I am afraid it would come down once again as snow.
Have a wonderful week Jann!

Jann, those dishes are SO pretty. My goal is to accumulate enough dinner, salad, and dessert plates for each setting at my wedding. I think it will be fun to have all the mis-matched china!

What a perfectly lovely springtime tea, Jann! Love the boots and the posies that fill them! I am loving your dotty teapot too. How sweet is that!
It will be a long time before spring actually reveals itself here. We received 16-17 feet of snow in the past two months and we are literally buried beneath mountains of the white stuff. We are all really tired of it and everyone is concerned about flooding once it begins to melt. But the weather is so cold that the melting will be a while too. It's been a terrible winter and I am SO READY for green grass and posies! Your pretty tea table helps perk me up. Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a beautiful day, my friend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Your Rainy Day tea looks so lovely! I adore your rain boots, Jann. Last year, I bought a cute pair of rain boots for our front porch. I found them at an antique flea market and just fell in love with them! Soon I will fill them with forsythia branches in bloom. We had a big snowstorm in the Midwest yesterday. A Snowy Day tea would be fun here today! ♡Dawn

Those boots are simply adorable, Jann. I think I'd pray for rain just to be able to wear them. LOL But, having them filled with your gorgeous flowers is wonderful, too. I love the layered vintage dishes. You always discover the greatest things at thrift stores. I'm struck by how the colors in that pretty sugar bowl match the colors in the runner. I absolutely LOVE when that happens. You have the touch, my friend. Always enjoy seeing what you're up to. Hugs, Nancy

Those polkadot boots would go with my new tablescape real well and I love the dotty teapot too! I think those plates all look wonderful together. I hadn't even noticed the glass ones until you mentioned them- very pretty. I hope you have luck finding more. That tea sounds realy delicious. Cinnamon seems to make things just right!

Jann, what a sweet little vignette you have set up here. I love the collection of vintage plates, they work so beautifully together. And of course the boots are precious. You are so talented.

I love the dotty tea pot. I would love to have one like that. I am collecting small teapots. Anyway, the boots. I saved a pair of orange flower rain boots for several years with the idea of using them to plant something in them. My great grandson claimed them for two summers. I think he has finally let them go and so maybe this year I can plant in them. Thanks for the reminder.
