Where I Will Create. . .Craft Room Reveal

Hello, hello!  I was going to wait until Monday to do my craft room reveal.  That was until I found this:

WhereBloggersCreate2013

Where Bloggers Create at My Desert Cottage.

How could I NOT join in on this fun party?  She asked that we get our posts out on the 11th so that meant two posts in one day.  Whoaaa, that’s a lot of pics!

I wanted this room to showcase my love for vintage items and at the same time have a shabby chic feel.

IMG_1535

My craft table is an old laundry table.  Perfect space for creating.  I found the cutest tan & black zebra chair at Hobby Lobby but it was too tall.  So for now this chair is borrowed from my upstairs island.

IMG_1590

I love these hooks!  I want to make some little catch all  bags to hang from them.

IMG_1589

I pulled this rug from my upstairs laundry room.  I thought it gave the room just the right amount of ‘pizazz’.

IMG_1560

desk

I found this rolling cart at a yard sale for $3.  They had two.  This one was less because of the damage on top.  Hee-hee, little did they know that was what attracted me to it.

IMG_1538

IMG_1539

The sweet little lights are from Ikea.

IMG_1536

The mustard colored barn doors are my favorite thing in the room.

IMG_1537

I leave the doors open because I think that craft organizational items are so fun!  I have a weakness for anything with numbers.

This old desk once belonged to my dad.  He died when I was 9 months old so it holds a special place in my heart.

IMG_1533

When I was snapping pics I noticed that my granddaughter had left a note.

IMG_1570

IMG_1569

This shelf holds my vintage camera collection and my lucky #7.

IMG_1522

Mrs. Olson has to have a few ‘O’s.  The rusted metal hubcap was a roadside find. What better place to showcase them than in old soda crates?

IMG_1547

IMG_1550

I haven’t had a chance to print pictures to hang from my laundry hook turned photo display.

IMG_1546

The thread holder was a $5 flea find.

IMG_1559

I painted this little cabinet and added the numbers.  The drawers will be handy for those ‘little’ things.  I also painted the three wooden bowls mustard.  Great to hold items when working on a project.

IMG_1565

IMG_1566

IMG_1556

IMG_1549

I Modge Podged book pages onto the frame I had made for this large ‘O’.  Which really is the number 0 from a gas station.  At first I tried to clean off the greasy handprints that the attendants left.  Then I realized that’s what gave it character.

IMG_1561

I made these sheer mustard curtains.  I loved how the fabric matched the barn doors to a tee.

IMG_1586

IMG_1554

So far the only thing I’ve had time to create in this room is to stamp the word, ‘ribbon’ on this banner.

Can’t wait to do more!

hugs,

Jann

I just love it all!! I have a thing for the number 3 since I have 3 sons :) The desk that belonged to your father...what a treasure!!

Love the room you create in!! How wonderful to have the desk that was your Dad's. The room I do my machine embroidery in is very small, so we are working on turning our family room on the lower level into my crafting room.

Cindy

What a neat space! I would love to have something like this. Of course, my daughter would camp out in here and watercolor all over the place! When she gets paint on my curtains accidentally, I don't know whether to be mad, or happy she's making art! This is a ream space, Jann. You have many many treasures. The thread holder is so old general store, I love it!

There is just so much to love about your space that I really cannot pick just one to focus on.... okay - there are two - the mustard barn doors... yup they are pretty outstanding.... but your $5 flea market find of the thread stand-well that just got my heart going pitty patter all over the place! I will definitely be back to look over the rest of your place! Take care.

I love your space!!! I love the Ikea lamps! I noticed that you have an old wire shopping basket - the one on wheels. I have one too. It belonged to my mother-in-law. I have been thinking about moving it into my studio. After seeing yours I am going to do so right now.

Thanks for the inspiration,

Love, love your space, the colour of mustard with whites is very soothing yet bright and happy. The barn doors (yummy), the old laundry table is brilliant and most of all your fathers desk and especially how that one drawer has such amazing wood grain pattern on it and how you left them being in wood and rest in white. Really beautiful piece and I can see why you treasure it so much (not only for the looks but for the memories of course). It was a great treat to see your studio space and I looked at the trip you did that you posted after, what a great pictures and I love the glass swallows on the wall.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful space!!!

Jann,
Thanks so much for always visiting and for leaving such kind comments!! I am slowly making my way through all the Participants in Karen's party so I am so glad that you told me about this post!!

LOVE the barn doors and your work table!! Wish i had a space as larger as yours.

I have no idea how you survive 100 degree heat. Do you have the humidity though that we have here in the Northeast. Today, you can cut the air with a knife it is so humid...

Thanks for the tour!! Loved it!

Hugs,
Debbie
